ASHEBORO, N.C. -- Asheboro Police have charged a mother for hurting her 4-year-old son.
Cheryl Dawn Flynn was charged with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury in an ongoing investigation. She is in the Randolph County Jail on a $50,000 secured bond.
Earlier this month, police arrested Flynn's boyfriend Keayone Lamont Murphy after he was accused of hurting the boy.
Police say the child was taken to Brenner Children's Hospital after the assault happened at an apartment complex on Tabor Court.
An arrest warrant stated Murphy caused bleeding and swelling around the boy's brain.
