Three men caught shooting a person before leading chase through Winston-Salem, police say

Winston-Salem police said they witnessed the men shooting another person in front of a business on North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Tuesday afternoon.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Three men are arrested after shooting a person and leading a chase through Winston-Salem Tuesday afternoon, police say. 

Around 4:44 p.m., Winston-Salem police were going down the 500 block of North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive when he witnessed a black Audi car shoot multiple guns at someone who was standing in front of El Taino located on the same street. 

As officers were trying to initiate a traffic stop, the suspects shot at the same person again. At least one shot hit the business. 

The suspects led a chase after refusing to stop for law enforcement. The chase eventually ended when the suspects jumped out the car and ran away on the 900 block of East Third Street. 

The suspects were identified as:

  • Isaiah Branson, 18
  • Ledarius Ham, 21
  • Datarius Pemberton, 27

A gun, rifle, 3 phones, marijuana, THC wax, methamphetamine, powder cocaine, crack cocaine, and approximately $600 was found inside the car. 

They were all arrested and collectively charged with: 

  • Discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling 
  • discharging a firearm from an enclosure 
  • resist, delay, obstruct

Each of them faces separate charges as well. 

This investigation is ongoing and appears to be an isolated incident.
