GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police said they were called to a shooting last night near the McDonald's on Gate City Boulevard.
Police responded to the area around 8:30 on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Officers arrived and found 29-year-old Aaquan Butler suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators said Butler tried to rob another person in the restaurant's bathroom.
Police said a struggle ensued and ended up in the dining room area, where Butler pulled a handgun and it went off.
Butler was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. He is facing many charges including robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Heaven Ashanti White, 22, was charged with felony conspiracy, aid, and abet robbery amongst a list of other charges.
Several witnesses told WFMY News 2 on the scene that a fight broke out inside the restaurant, then things escalated, and someone was shot.
WFMY News 2 spoke to the victim of the incident, who police confirmed had a non-life-threatening injury.
