LEXINGTON, N.C. — A man and a woman were arrested Friday in connection to a murder that happened back in September, according to Lexington police.

The Lexington Police Department said 31-year-old Robert Grant was shot and killed while attending a party at a home on Tussey Street on Sept. 16. Investigators said an altercation led to the shooting of Grant and 41-year-old Britany Bethea.

Detectives said Britany Bethea later died from injuries received during the shooting.

With the help of the US Marshalls Carolinas Regional Task Force, police were able to arrest 37-year-old Darius Bethea for the murder of Grant.

Police said Darius Bethea was charged with the following:

  • Murder
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon
  • Possession with the intent to sell or deliver cocaine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of marijuana

Officers said they also arrested 20-year-old AAlysa Zo'Marya Hairston, who is accused of providing a room for Darius Bethea.

Police said Hairston was charged with harboring a fugitive, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
