WINSTON-SALEM, NC (WFMY) - Police in Winston-Salem confimr they've arrested a man believed to be connected to the robbery of two Winston-Salem banks within an hour Thursday.
Police say the may was arrested shortly after 3pm. No other details were provided.
At 11:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to Wells Fargo Bank on University Parkway, where they learned a man gave the teller a threatening note. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money according to a release.
At 12:02 p.m., the Wells Fargo Bank on Hawthorne Road was also the victim of a robbery by the same man. Police say the suspect gave a teller a threatening note during the second robbery as well.
The man is described as 6-foot-5 and has short hair and a beard. Police say he drove a red, newer model, full-size pickup truck.
There were no injuries and no weapons displayed at both robberies.
