Man pleaded guilty to a murder case from 2020

Damien Jordan pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the shooting death of Robert “Bobby” Singletary.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Damien Jordan pleads guilty to second-degree murder for the killing of Robert Singletary Monday, according to the district attorney. 

This case stems back to 2020. 

Police said Jordan and three men planned a home invasion and robbery on Louise Road in Winston-Salem. 

December 27, 2020, the three men went to the targeted home in search of drugs and money, police said. 

Singletary was at the home during that time along with four others. 

Police said witnesses reported to them that they saw three to four men enter the home wearing face coverings and armed. 

The men demanded money from those inside. According to police, the armed men singled out Singletary and shot him. He died at the scene.

Singletary was a father of two and graduated from Parkland High School and Forsyth Technical Community College. 

Jordan was arrested and police said he confessed, Dejunte Moore and two other men helped planned to rob Singletary. Jordan received a sentence of 16 to 20 years in jail.
