MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A man has been sentenced after a hit-and-run left an Elon student dead.
According to the Horry County Clerk of Court, Jason Sauro pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and battery and the judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison suspended to five years’ probation.
The Horry County Clerk of Court said Sauro must submit to random drug and alcohol testing along with other requirements set by the S.C. Department of Probation.
If he does not follow all the conditions of probation, he faces serving 10 years in prison.
