FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — A judge sentenced a Winston-Salem man to three years probation for sexually touching children at his mother's daycare.

The Forsyth County District Attorney's Office said on Wednesday a jury convicted Juan Carlos Trujillo-Reyna of ten counts of indecent liberties with a child.

The offenses happened to two young girls who went to the same daycare back in 2009. The victims were between four and five years old. Trujillo-Reyna was around 30 years old at the time.

The investigation began in 2015 when one of the victims, who was around 11 years old at the time, told her mother about the sexual abuse. Detectives said the victim described numerous incidents of inappropriate touching and described at least one time when the suspect exposed himself to her and tried to pull her into the bathroom with him, according to the DA's office.

Then in 2019, detectives got a report from one of the girl's doctors, who reported that her patient told her about being sexually assaulted by a man named Carlos at her babysitter's house.

Detectives learned the girls went to the same daycare operated by Trujillo-Reyna's mother. They said he lived at the location. Trujillo-Reyna was arrested in January 2020 for the 10 counts of indecent liberties. The daycare is no longer in operation.
