Man Charged With Shooting At Deputy

SEAGROVE, N.C. – A Seagrove man is in jail after firing at a Randolph County sheriff's deputy.

According to the sheriff's office, Zane Thomas fired at Deputy John Martin after he went to the home over a suicide threat. Martin fired back.

Neither of the men were hurt.

Martin arrested Thomas and brought him to the Randolph County Jail, where he is being held without bond.

Thomas is charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder and Felony Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer with a Firearm.
