Man charged with murder after Starlight Drive shooting leaves 1 dead and 3 injured

Police said they responded to a report of shooting on the 2000 block of Starlight Drive.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man is facing a murder charge after a shooting left one man dead and three others injured in Winston-Salem Sunday.

Winston-Salem police said they responded to a report of shooting on the 2000 block of Starlight Drive around 12:26 a.m.

When officers arrived they found Angelo Delacruz Calleja, 18, Rosa Medina, 54,  Oscar Lopez, 51, and Higinio Lopez, 32, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police said Angelo Delacruz Calleja was found dead at the scene.

Officers discovered that Austreberto Marin Figueroa, 43, arrived at a hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police arrested and charged Figueroa with General Murder as a result of the investigation.

Figueroa is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center under no bond.

Police said the investigation revealed that the shooting was not a random act of violence and there is no danger to the community.

The investigation is ongoing.
