KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — A suspect was arrested in connection to a shooting in Kernersville Sunday, according to police.
The Kernersville Police Department said 26-year-old Jdel Dewitt Clark, of Winston-Salem, got into a fight with a man on Clifton Street before firing a gun and driving off.
Investigators said the victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said Clark was charged with the following:
- First-degree Burglary
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury
- Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Detectives said Clark was also served a warrant for interfering with an electronic monitoring device which they said was an unrelated charge. Investigators also said he was on probation but was not wearing his GPS ankle monitor when he was arrested.
Clark is behind bars without bond.
