WOODLEAF, N.C. — A Lexington man has been charged with two counts of murder as a result of a shooting that occurred Saturday morning in Woodleaf.
At 8:42 a.m., the Rowan County Sheriff's Office received a report of a possible homicide at 1212 Old Oak Lane in Woodleaf. According to deputies, an Amanda Burr called 911 and said her friend Jonathan Davon Freeman sent her a photograph of her husband, Bryan Burr, dead at their home.
Deputies were also informed that Jonathan's wife, Teri Freeman, might also be deceased. When officers arrived on scene, they found Bryan and Teri dead and Jonathan still at the scene.
After obtaining a search warrant, investigators collected more evidence from the scene. This, along with incriminating statements Jonathan made to others, as well as a confession, led to charged being filed.
Jonathan Freeman is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center under no bond. He will appear in court for the first time Sept. 17.
