Kristen McNeal Found Dead in Car Submerged in Kernersville Creek: Police

Winston-Salem Police say missing woman Kristen McNeal's body was found Monday after her car was found submersed in a creek in Kernersville.

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — Winston-Salem Police found the body of a missing woman on Monday. 

Forsyth County Sheriff's Office first got the report of a car down an embankment, submerged in a creek in the 7400 block of Watkins Ford Road in Kernersville around 3 p.m.

Police say it was Kristen McNeal's car. Her body was found inside. Police say she was the only person inside the car. McNeal had been missing for more than two weeks. 

Last week, Winston-Salem Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division took over the investigation of her disappearance. 

An autopsy will be done to determine the official cause of death.
