Student arrested after assaulting someone with knife at Reynolds High, deputies say

Forsyth Co. deputies said no stabbing took place.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — An R.J. Reynolds High School student was arrested for assaulting someone with a knife on campus on Monday, Sept. 16, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office (FCSO).

On Monday morning, school SROs were alerted that a student had a knife in the bathroom, deputies said.

The student was found and deputies said they seized a large knife.

The student was arrested on one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill and one count of Weapon on a Campus.

However, the FCSO said no one was stabbed.

"Let me reiterate that in our investigation's findings, no stabbing occurred today. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to stand firmly with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System in fostering a safe and conducive learning environment for students, faculty, and staff," said Chief Deputy Henry Gray.

Anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to contact the FCSO.
