GREENSBORO, NC -- The Guilford County District Attorney's Office is working to try the two juveniles charged in the murder of Larry Brown as adults.
74-year-old Larry Eugene Brown was attacked and killed by three teenagers on Greenbriar Road on July 29, 2015.
Brown suffered, what police call, "significant" blunt force trauma to his head and died from his injuries.
Three teenagers were arrested in connection to the homicide. 17-year-old D'Angelo Matthews is charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Police also charged two juveniles, a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
According to District Attorney Howard Neumann, the 14-year-old girl and the 15-year-old boy both appeared in court on Thursday.
The 15-year-old male waived his right to a probable cause hearing and his case will be moved to superior court within the next 60 days, according to Neumann.
The unnamed suspect will appear before a grand jury ahead of his superior court date. If a grand jury indicts him, he will be tried as an adult.
If convicted, Neumann says the 15-year-old could face a punishment of life in prison, if he is tried as an adult.
According to Neumann, the 14-year-old female's court case was continued on Thursday. She is scheduled to appear back in court on September 17, 2015.
Neumann said the 14-year-old girl is still scheduled to appear in juvenile court at the time of this report.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old D'Angelo Matthews is still in jail.
Neumann says the goal of the district attorney's office is to have all three suspects appear before a grand jury at the same time.
