Two animals shot in Lexington, no suspects found yet

Davidson County deputies said a horse and a cow were both shot within a week of each other in Lexington, and they are trying to find who did it.

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Davidson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of two animals in Lexington. 

A horse was shot in the nasal cavity area of its face on Wildlife Road around Nov. 5-6 and a cow was later shot twice in the shoulder area on Turner Road on Nov. 12. 

During the investigation, it was determined through interviews and veterinary documentation, that a horse and a cow had possibly been shot with Black Powder Shot and are currently going through medical treatment. 

The sheriff's office is requesting the public's assistance for any leads or tips in the investigation. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. 

This investigation is ongoing.
