HIGH POINT, N.C. — An off-duty High Point police officer has been arrested for driving while impaired at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, according to the High Point Police Department.

Officers said they saw a motorcycle speeding down N. Main Street.

They stopped the driver at Eastchester Drive and Johnson Street.

During the investigation, officers said they determined Christian M. Pfahlert, 25, was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Pfahlert was arrested and charged with a DWI and speeding, according to police. She was not on duty at the time of the arrest and was driving a personal vehicle.

She has been with the High Point Police Department since July 2022.

The arrest has prompted an internal investigation with the High Point Police Department’s Professional Standards Division, which police said is standard procedure.

“The law applies equally to everyone, and that includes people who wear our badge,” said Chief Curtis Cheeks III. “Our department’s commitment to serve and protect requires integrity. We will follow our department’s policy by conducting a full investigation of the incident and taking appropriate actions. We work every day to build trust with our community members. We owe it to each of you to hold everyone accountable when they break the law.”
