Man accused of sexual exposure again facing $500K bond

Noree Staton has been arrested nine times within the last six months for 'peeping' and touching himself inappropriately in public. His bond is set at $500,000.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A High Point man with a history of exposing himself has been arrested Tuesday, making this the ninth time in six months.

High Point police said they arrived at the Chick-fil-A on N. Main Street during the lunchtime rush.

Witnesses reported that Noree Staton, 20, was seen touching himself inappropriately near a mother and her young children.

Staton ran from the restaurant and officers chased him across the street. He was arrested in a parking lot.

Officers said Staton is charged with indecent liberties with children and resist, delay and obstruct a police officer.

He is in the Guilford County Jail in High Point with no bond.

Staton was out on bond when he was arrested. He was released from jail on Nov. 8.

After a court appearance Wednesday, Staton faces up to 5 years for the indecent liberties charge and up to a month for the resisting officer charge.

It was revealed in court that Staton touched himself inappropriately in front of a two-year-old, when officers went to investigate and tried to arrest Staton, he pulled away.

The State asked that Staton have no contact with victims and no contact with Chick-fil-A.

Staton was found to be a threat to the community by multiple judges in his recent charges.

Staton's mother was in court on his behalf.

She is seeking to become his legal guardian due to a mental health claim, but tests prove Staton is competent.

The public defender's office is taking over the case as the charge is a felony charge.

The public defender argued that the incident was indecent exposure and not indecent liberties because Staton did not come in contact with anyone.

The judge ruled Staton was a threat to the community.

He is set to appear in court on Dec. 5 for another charge.

His next court date related to these charges is set for Jan. 5.

The bond is set at $500,000 secured.
