Officers found the car abandoned with the child inside, uninjured, about 10 minutes later on SW Cloverleaf Place near Highway 29/70.

Officers found the suspect, 31-year-old Marlo T. Torain, walking in the 400 block of S Main Street at about 9:10 p.m..

Torain was arrested and charged with first-degree kidnapping, abduction of children, felony larceny and possession of stolen goods.
