GREENSBORO, N.C. — One person was killed and another was injured in the area of Laurel Street and East Market Street in an overnight shooting Sunday, Greensboro police said.
Officers responded to the scene just after 1 a.m. The caller reported a "drive-by" shooting at that location and said that at least two people were hurt.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a car in the roadway on East Market Street along with two victims inside. Both victims were taken to a local hospital.
Rachaud Polite, 31, died from his injuries and the other male victim is in stable condition, according to police.
Detectives said they are working to establish a motive at this time.
This investigation is ongoing.
