Man killed in Barber Park Drive shooting in Greensboro, police say

Greensboro police said 37-year-old Tyrek Burton was found in the parking area.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man is dead after a shooting in the parking lot of Barber Park Events Center, Greensboro police said. 

The shooting happened in the 1500 block of Barber Park Drive in Greensboro shortly before 9 p.m. on Saturday night. 

Tyrek Burton, 37, was found injured in the parking lot. Lifesaving efforts were immediately initiated at the scene. Burton later died from his injuries that night. 

No information about the suspect has been released.

The Greensboro Police Department says the investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
