GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Greensboro Police Department is investigating after a homicide on Hewitt Street Saturday night.
Police have identified the victim as 27-year-old Michael Bowie.
According to NC A&T State University, Bowie was a senior who was studying civil engineering at the university.
University officials said Bowie had been enrolled at A&T since 2019, after transferring from Voorhees College in South Carolina.
Investigators said the shooting happened after 8 p.m.
After arriving, police found Bowie suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries and later died.
