GRAHAM, N.C. — Officers from the Graham Police Department responded to a report of shots fired near the 200 block of North Marshall Street on Sunday, July 14.

Other officers from the Haw River Police Department told Graham police that a woman had been shot in the arm and now waited in her car.

She told police she'd been shot by Marcus Shane Britt while at his house.

The wound was not life-threatening. She was transported to a local hospital soon after, police say.

Graham police said they found Britt in his house where they interviewed him. They later searched the house and found multiple shell casings across the street. A rifle was found inside his house, according to police.

Britt was then arrested and brought to the Alamance County Detention Center, where he's being held without bond.

His charges are:

• Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury with Intent to Kill
