ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — A former Rockingham County deputy has been charged with sex crimes, according to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
Marcus Shane Bullins was a deputy for the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said Bullins was placed on Suspension when the allegations were brought to the sheriff's attention.
The NC SBI said they received a request from the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office to investigate him.
After the investigation, Rockingham Co. deputies charged Bullins with four counts of assault on a female and four counts of sexual battery.
On Feb. 9, Bullins turned himself in to the Stokes County Sheriff's Office, was issued a $12,000 secured bond and was released.
Bullins is no longer employed at the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.
