Lexington police searching for car tied to shooting on Federal Street

Police said Anthony Kindle was shot in the leg on Federal Street, and they're looking for a 2011 Lexus with Georgia tag number CWW3774 connected to the shooting.

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Lexington police are searching for the person(s) responsible for shooting a victim in the leg Thursday.

Officers said it happened on the 200 block of Federal Street around 3:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found 40-year-old Anthony Kindle suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper leg in a front yard. 

Police said they immediately began life-saving efforts to save Kindle until EMS arrived. 

The shooting appears to be an isolated incident with no further threat to the public, according to police. 

This investigation is ongoing. 

Detectives are looking for a suspect vehicle, a 2011 Lexus IS250, black or dark gray, Georgia license plate CWW3774. If anyone sees the vehicle, do not approach; call 911.
