Eden man charged with rape and kidnapping, Rockingham County Sheriff's Office says

EDEN, N.C. — A man from Eden is facing serious charges after being arrested for kidnapping, statutory rape, and violating the state’s sex offender registry.

Creshawn Lee Brown, 28, was taken into custody after an investigation by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and Eden Police Department. Officials say he’s been charged with kidnapping, eight counts of statutory rape involving a child 15 years old or younger, and two counts of violating sex offender rules. He’s also accused of breaking the terms of his probation.

Brown is now being held in the Rockingham County Detention Center without bond.

Deputies say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be reported anonymously to Rockingham County Crime Stoppers at 336-349-9683.
