A man was arrested Sunday after he was pulled over for having a fake license plate, according to the Eden Police Department. An investigation of his vehicle revealed more than officers bargained for.

As police searched 49-year-old Jesse Wayne Price's car for illegal narcotics, they found a "homemade undetonated explosive device."

Investigators from the police department were notified of the explosive device and contacted the Greensboro Police Department's Hazardous Devices Team (HDT) for help. Responding officials took it into posession.

Price was arrested on one felony count of weapons of mass destruction and one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana. He's being held on a $35,000 secured bond in Rockingham County.

This investigation is ongoing.
