BURLINGTON, N.C. — UPDATE: Roberto Marin-Mejia was arrested on Saturday afternoon, according to Burlington police. Marin-Mejia was charged with felony hit and run resulting in death and is being held with no bond.
A Graham man is wanted in connection to a deadly hit-and-run in Burlington Friday.
The Burlington Police Department said it happened on Tucker Street around 12:40 p.m. An investigation showed that a moped driver was hit by a van that left the scene of the crash.
Police said 57-Robert Clinton Slade was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
Investigators have since identified 44-year-old Roberto Marin-Mejia as the suspect driver in this hit-and-run. Burlington police said Marin-Mejia is wanted for outstanding warrants for a felony hit-and-run resulting in death.
Detectives said Roberto’s whereabouts are currently unknown.
This investigation is ongoing.
