GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro man is facing charges in connection to a deadly moped crash that happened Friday, April 26, on J.M. Hunt Expressway, according to the Greensboro Police Department (GPD).

GPD officers said they were called to J.M. Hunt Expressway South just south of Liberty Road about a vehicle crash with a personal injury.

Investigators said 61-year-old Anthony Dickerson, of Burlington, was driving a red moped south on J. M. Hunt Expressway while Krou Y, 42, of Greensboro, drove a Chevrolet Corvette behind Dickerson. Police said Y failed to reduce speed and hit the moped before Dickerson was thrown from the moped. Then another driver who was traveling behind Y's Corvette was unable to avoid hitting Dickerson after he landed in the roadway.

Greensboro Police, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS attempted life-saving measures; however, Dickerson died on the scene.

Police said Y was charged with felony death by motor vehicle, driving while impaired, and failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision.

The department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
