DENTON, N.C. — A man in Davidson County has been arrested for felony child abuse.
Detectives said they began investigating the report of abuse of a child on September 26 in the Denton community.
Investigators said the child had bleeding on the brain and broken ribs.
Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center advised the injuries were consistent with head trauma known as shaken baby syndrome.
Eddie Sims was arrested on Thursday for the abuse.
He was taken before a Davidson County Magistrate. His next court appearance is December 12.
