FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — A Clemmons woman who was previously arrested for operating an unlicensed daycare is now facing child abuse charges in Forsyth County Friday.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said Brittany Danielle Clark, 35, of Clemmons is charged with two counts of felonious child abuse.

Clark was initially arrested for running an illegal childcare facility in Clemmons in February.

Deputies said the investigation began on January 25 at "The Nest" on Stone Bluff Drive.

The facility had originally received a warning to cease operation from the North Carolina Department of Child Development and Early Education, a division of the NC Department of Health & Human Services, in September 2022. It was determined then that the facility was operating as an unlicensed facility within the State of North Carolina.

On Feb. 1, The FSCO discovered "The Nest" was still in operation and had not shut down, even after getting the warning to cease operation as an unlicensed childcare facility.

She was charged with a felony count of providing childcare without a license.

Clark is currently being held at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center and no bond is allowed.

The investigation is ongoing.
