Cleaning man charged for stealing from homes, police say

Officers said some of the property stolen was recovered at pawn shops in Burlington.

GIBSONVILLE, N.C. — A man is facing charges for stealing from homes he was employed to clean, according to police.

Gibsonville police said they were investigating a robbery involving stolen jewelry and a gun when they discovered that both of the victims in the case had their homes cleaned by James Francis Provost II who is employed by AnD Services, LLC. 

Officers said some of the property stolen was recovered at pawn shops in Burlington where Provost had sold the items. 

Gibsonville police along with Graham police executed a search warrant for a home on the 200 block of Aloha Drive in Graham Thursday.

Police said the search revealed additional violations of the NC Controlled Substance Act which is being investigated by officers of the Graham Police Department. 

Provost was arrested on the following charges on warrants previously issued by the Magistrates Office:

  • Larceny of Firearm
  • Felony Larceny
  • Obtaining Property by False Pretense

Provost is currently in the Alamance County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.

Provost has been employed with AnD Services, LLC for around one year.
