Woman dead after Sunday shooting at CB's Tavern, police confirm

The investigation is ongoing.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A woman is dead after a shooting at CB's Tavern on Sunday, April 28, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Julia Ann Shields, 37, was shot at CB's Tavern around 2 a.m. on Sunday, police said. Her injuries were considered life-threatening.

On April 29, Shields died from her injuries, police said.

Police have not released any suspect information at this time.

CB's Tavern released the following statement about the shooting on Sunday:

"Last night, an incident occurred in our parking lot. We're relieved to report that all our staff members are safe. We're deeply grateful for the swift response and thorough investigation by the WSPD. Safety is our top priority, and we commend our security team for their professionalism in handling the situation. We remain open for business and will provide updates as soon as we have more information."

The investigation is ongoing.
