MEBANE, N.C. — There were multiple car break-ins at an apartment complex in Mebane last night, according to police.
The Mebane Police Department said they responded to a call reporting multiple car break-ins at 119 South Apartments in Mebane.
Around 11:55 p.m. on Nov. 14, police said officers were conducting patrols in the area when they were alerted of people breaking car windows.
Nearby officers said they saw the suspects fleeing the scene in a stolen blue sedan. The vehicle failed to stop and crashed close to mile marker 161 near Hillsborough.
Three juveniles were detained by police at the scene, while two fled on foot.
The Mebane Police Department said they have identified 15 vehicles where windows were smashed by the suspects.
One juvenile suspect was in possession of a stolen firearm, according to police. During the foot chase, two officers suspected minor injuries and are being evaluated.
This is an ongoing investigation.
