Burlington mother charged with second-degree murder after neglecting son, police say

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A mother was arrested and charged with murder after neglecting her son, according to the Burlington Police Department.

On May 28, around 7:45 p.m., police were called to the 600 block of Kivett Street for an unresponsive, malnourished male.

Police found Max Lyar Oilouch, 21, and pronounced him dead at the scene.

After an investigation, police said Oilouch was neglected by his primary caregiver, Khlimolene “Kymo” Star Oilouch, which led to his death.

Kymo Oilouch, 44, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder on Oct. 17. Police did not provide bond information.
