Georgia man accused of kidnapping 5-year-old in Burlington, police say

The parent said this is not the first time this suspect has tried to kidnap this child.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A Georgia man was arrested after allegedly kidnapping a 5-year-old at a Knights Inn in Burlington on Sunday, April 7, according to the Burlington Police Department.

Around 6:45 p.m., police were called to 2155 Hanford Road for reports of kidnapping.

When officers arrived, they said they saw the suspect vehicle driving on Hanford Road. The car was stopped, and the 5-year-old was found in the back seat.

According to police, a parent of the child said the suspect had previously attempted to kidnap the child.

Israel Bryan Galbreath, 59, of Georgia, was arrested with two counts of second-degree kidnapping and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, police said.

According to police, the victim and the suspect do not know each other.
