GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Newly released documents show the bodies of a Greensboro woman and her son found in her car were so badly burned officials could not figure out how they died.

Twenty-two-year-old Asia LaRose Brown and 2-year-old Ashton were found Feb. 23 in the trunk of her car by city employees in Greensboro.

The News & Record of Greensboro reports that the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner classified the deaths as "homicidal violence of undetermined means."

The medical examiner could not determine whether the victims were alive when the car burned. The doctor who performed the autopsy was unable to find any injuries that were not from the fire. But the medical examiner said the condition of the bodies limited the examination.

No arrests have been made.
