GREENSBORO, N.C. — It has been nine years since a mother and son were found burned in their car.
On Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, Asia and Ashton Brown were reported missing after Asia failed to report to work on Saturday, Feb. 21 and Sunday, Feb. 22.
That same day, officers were called to Thurston Avenue in reference to a burned car with human remains inside. DNA results positively identified the remains to be Asia and Ashton Brown, according to Greensboro Crime Stoppers.
Crime Stoppers said Asia had bought a 2005 Buick Lacrosse on Feb. 20, 2015, around 1:30 p.m.
Asia was last seen on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at approximately 3:20 p.m. inside the AutoZone located at 3033 Randleman Road. Her son, Ashton, was reportedly not observed to be in the store.
Anyone with any information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
Those with information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible can be given up to a $5000 reward, as well as a Governor’s Reward of $10,000 for the arrest and conviction of the responsible parties.
