ASHEBORO, N.C. — The Asheboro Police Department used an interesting method to help them resolve a SWAT situation Wednesday afternoon.
According to Ethan Williamson of the department's criminal investigations division, officers and Randolph County Emergency Services responded to W. Kivett St. in Asheboro after receiving reports that warrants were obtained for James Miller IV on the charges of assault on a female and simple assault.
Miller was found inside an outbuilding behind the house where he barricaded himself.
Officers on the scene used drones to help get a visual on Miller. He was then arrested without incident.
Miller's first court appearance is Thursday in Randolph County. He is also in jail with no bond.
This is a developing story.
