ASHEBORO, N.C. — The Asheboro Police Department is in the process of investigating a threat made against one of the schools in the Asheboro City Schools system.

According to a Facebook post by the department, investigators have already identified the individual who made the threats and been in contact with their parents, as well as officials at Asheboro City Schools.

"Unfortunately, these types of threats have been all too common lately," the post said. "Most often, the goal is to cause disruption and chaos."
