ASHEBORO, N.C. — An Asheboro man who led deputies on a 75-mile high-speed chase in September was sentenced Monday to more than a decade in prison.
Adam Clodfelter, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute meth. According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, a judge gave him 151 months in prison, which is roughly 12-and-a-half years.
The chase spanned across Randolph and Chatham counties on September 3, 2023. A deputy tried to pull over Clodfelter's motorcycle, but he took off. Authorities said he had no license plate and was recklessly switching lanes while reaching speeds over 150 mph. He was arrested after losing control of his motorcycle. Authorities found a gun, drugs, and a lock pick on him. Previously, he'd been convicted of a crime that made it illegal for him to have a gun.
Clodfelter will have three years of probation after his release.
