Asheboro man charged with strangulation, domestic violence

Deputies said the man had violated a preexisting protective order.

ASHEBORO, N.C. — The Randolph County Sheriff's Office arrested and charged an Asheboro man with felony assault on Sunday.

Deputies said they responded to a report of assault on Aug. 11 at Old Cox Rd. in Asheboro. When they arrived, they found a victim with noticeable injuries. The suspect, 22-year-old Quinland Chyqwon Pratt, had run away from the scene.

While deputies investigated, Pratt returned to the area and was arrested. He was then charged with:

  • Felony assault by strangulation
  • Misdemeanor domestic violence protective order violation
  • Misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
  • Misdemeanor crime assault inflicting serious injury

Pratt is now being held at the Randolph County Detention Center with no bond.
