GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro Police have made an arrest in the drive-by shooting on Beck Street that killed a man and injured another.
Police arrested Jhustyn Kelvin Mitchell after getting Crime Stoppers tips. Police say Mitchell is a validated gang member and that the shooting was gang-related.
The shooting happened Wednesday afternoon in the 3300 block of Beck Street. Police found the body of Jay Jay Lavorse Allen, 30, in a vehicle that had rolled down an embankment. Police say he had fatal gunshot wounds and was the intended target.
The other shooting victim, Keith Delfonne Womack, 34, was taken to a local hospital. He is in critical but stable condition. Investigators don't yet know his involvement in the incident.
Mitchell was taken into custody without incident for five orders for arrest for failing to appear in court for previous offenses, and two outstanding warrants for arrest for Assault on a Female and Communicating Threats. Those warrants were unrelated to the murder investigation.
