We've learned he now faces federal charges.
If you remember, police identified Jonathan Coley on surveillance cameras, walking through the school with a long gun on Saturday, April 13.
We're hearing new details about that day. According to the court documents, a detective shared details about an interview with Coley.
It states that the detective asked Coley if he used drugs. Coley stated that he uses two to three times a day.
When the detective asked Coley why he was at the school with the gun, Coley mentioned hearing voices in his head and described the sound and feeling of something bad.
It goes on to say Coley gave sporadic statements, which included the sound of someone screaming and pop sounds which sounded like gunshots.
The detective mentions other utterances, like Coley describing entering the school, shouting a name, and shouting 'is everybody ok'.
If you remember, Coley appeared in court on April 17, where a judge deemed him a threat to the community, banning him from all Guilford County schools.
He bonded out on May 2.
