ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Two women were arrested in connection to prostitution after an investigation, according to Triad law enforcement.
The Alamance County Sheriff's Office along with the Davidson, Forsyth, and Randolph County law enforcement held the press conference Friday to give updates on the investigation.
During the press conference deputies said the Alamance County Sheriff's Office Street Crimes Investigators received a community complaint about suspicious activity from a home on the 1000 block of South Church Street in Burlington.
The report stated that they noticed the women living at the home did not come out of the home often and that they saw several men frequently coming and going.
Investigators began the investigation in October 2023.
Deputies identified the business as Gentle Spring Spa and was operating in the home.
A search warrant was executed on the home Tuesday.
During the execution of the search warrant, investigators developed probable cause to arrest Yuhuan Li as the owner of the business and Jun Wang as an employee.
Deputies said there was one victim was at the home.
Li was charged with promoting prostitution. Her bond is set at $100,000.
Wang is charged with prostitution and solicitation. Her bond is set at $2,500.
Deputies said the operation in the home had been running since 2021.
Investigators said the two women are from China.
Li is a lawful resident and Wang is in the US on a work visa.
The Alamance County Sheriff's Office was assisted in the investigation by the Project Invictus Team
The Project Invictus Team was created to address human exploitation and internet crimes against children.
The team includes officers from Alamance, Davidson, Forsyth, and Randolph County.
While the case has underlying factors of human exploitation, probable cause was not developed for that specific charge.
The investigation is ongoing.
