ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. -- Alamance County Sheriff's Office says a man accused of hurting an infant girl was arrested for felony child abuse.
The sheriff's office says the Special Victims Unit got a call on April 6 from the Department of Social Services about the alleged abuse, and the investigation began.
The sheriff's office says DSS was initially contacted after the child was treated at a local hospital.
Investigators charged 23-year-old John Edward Ferguson of Sophia with felony child abuse - serious physical injury.
Ferguson is in the Alamance County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.
