Greensboro police said they are not aware if anyone is injured.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police said they responded to a shooting at 5245 Fox Hunt Drive around 1:21 p.m. Friday.

The suspect was allegedly holding one gun in each hand and was firing rounds outside, police said.

Other callers told police the suspect was walking outside the Madison at Adams Farm leasing office, police said.

Police said they found the suspect within the apartment complex. After giving commands for the suspect to drop his weapons, he began firing at the officers.

Greensboro police claim they returned fire but did not strike the suspect.

The suspect ran into an apartment and barricaded himself in, according to police.

Adams Farm residents were asked to shelter in place and the Greensboro Police Special Response Team and Hostage Negotiation Team were brought to the scene, police said.

By 3 p.m., the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

The suspect nor the officers were injured. Police did not confirm if there were any other victims.

Police identified the suspect as Jaquan Singleton, 25. Charges are pending.

The Greensboro Police Department issued a statement saying an internal investigation will be conducted to determine if Greensboro Police Department policies were followed. The officer responsible for firing their weapon has been placed on administrative duty.
