EDEN, N.C. -- Six Eden stores have been cited for selling alcohol to people under the age of 21.
The Eden Police Department and the NC ALE conducted an ABC Compliance Check of 29 stores that sell alcohol in the city.
The compliance checks are done to make sure minors are not able to illegally buy alcohol.
As a result, six people at six different locations were cited for selling alcohol to minors:
- Meadow Green Shell on South Van Buren Road
- Food Lion on South Van Buren Road
- Kings Highway Shell on West Kings Highway
- Gills Corner on South Hamilton Street
- Supermart on South Hamilton Street
- P and D Food Mart on North Main Street
Police are also investigating a crash that happened June 5th where a minor was injured. The driver was charged with DWI and the owner of Fiddlestix convenience store was charged with the Sale of Alcohol to a Minor in connection to the crash.
