3-Year-Old Caught In Crossfire When Dad Argues Over Parking Spot: Police

Police say a father's car, with toddler inside, was shot up after an argument over a parking space in High Point.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A man was injured and child was unharmed Thursday night following a parking altercation in High Point. The shooting happened outside an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Sales Street. 

Police say Julius Lewis found a black Chevrolet Sedan blocking his parking space and started arguing with people in the parked car. 

According to police, multiple shots were then fired from the black sedan into Lewis's car. His 3-year-old daughter who was also in the car, when shots were fired, was unharmed.

Lewis suffered an injury to his hip during the shooting. Police didn't say if his injury was from a bullet or another object.

Lewis refused to go to the hospital for further treatment after being treated on the scene by EMS.

Eleven 9mm shell casings were recovered from the scene, police said. 

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
