Winston-Salem man charged after 2 stolen cars found connected to Greensboro robbery, second suspect at-large

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A suspect is in custody and another suspect is at-large after police found two stolen vehicles in Winston-Salem Thursday.

Officers found a stolen vehicle on Germanton Road at Hanes Mill Road connected to an armed robbery in Greensboro around 3:21 p.m.

Officers tried to pull the suspect in the 2008 Ford Crown Vic over when the suspect rammed into a police officer's car.

Police chased the suspect. 

During the chase, officers lost sight of the vehicle near Germanton Road and Oak Summit Road.

Police found the 2008 Ford Crown Vic shortly after crashed, but the suspect was gone.

While officers looked for the suspect who was driving the 2008 Ford Crown Vic, they noticed an additional stolen car driving by the scene.

Officers attempted to pull over the suspect driving a 2017 Honda Civic.

The suspect of the 2017 Honda Civic crashed into the back of a nearby car.

Then the suspect ran away and threw out a gun.

The suspect driving the Honda Civic was arrested by officers without further incident.

Police identified the suspect driving the Honda Civic as Dionysus Demarcus Thomas, 24.

Thomas is charged with:

  • Felony Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle
  • Felony Firearm by Felon
  • Misdemeanor Resist, Delay, and Obstruct a Public Officer
  • Misdemeanor Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Misdemeanor Contributing to the Delinquency of the Minor (The passenger in the suspect vehicle was a juvenile)

Thomas appeared before a magistrate Friday and his bond is set at $25,000.
